Property regatta celebrates biggest year yet on the Solent

The South Coast CPS Regatta marked its fifth and biggest year to date last week, as 24 yachts and hundreds of property professionals took to the Solent for a full day of racing, networking and team building.

Now firmly established as the largest corporate regatta on the Solent, teams from across the region set sail from Port Hamble for a competitive and good‑spirited day on the water.

Despite a forecast promising every season in one day, crews managed to avoid the rain entirely, with stronger winds later in the afternoon helping the fleet make quick progress back to the RAF Yacht Club.

Sponsored by Gracelands Ltd Civil Engineering & Groundworks and Barratt Redrow, this year’s regatta delivered one of the most competitive fleets yet. tor&co secured the overall win aboard Espresso Martini, followed by Waterman Group on Fandango in second place and AtkinsRéalis in third.

Line Honours went to Welborne UK on Emily of Cowes, while Savills took home the wooden spoon after getting caught at the first marker.

“This was our biggest regatta yet and the atmosphere throughout the day was fantastic. We had a real mix of conditions out on the water, but somehow managed to dodge the rain completely.

“What makes this event special is that it brings together people from right across the property industry in a completely different environment. Some teams sail regularly, others are stepping onto a yacht for the first time, but everyone gets involved and has a brilliant day.

“To now be recognised as the largest corporate regatta on the Solent is a huge achievement and reflects the incredible support the event has built over the last five years. We’ll have to increase our fleet next year for sure.”

The regatta forms part of South Coast CPS’s year‑round programme of events leading up to the flagship South Coast CPS Conference, taking place on 11–12 November at St Mary’s Stadium.
